Note: This is the rare first edition cover from Sedalia, Missouri, of which only five are known to still exist, including one at the Library of Congress and another at Scott Joplin House in St. Louis, MO. It was replaced in 1900 and later by various versions of the more famous "Leaf" cover. The dancers depicted on the cover are none other than famous black vaudeville stars Walker and Williams and their wives.
Note: This is the more famous second edition cover. It replaced the original cover in 1900 and came out in various versions over time. This edition had a rare picture of Scott Joplin and two other rag titles at the bottom.
Note: This is the third edition cover that has Augustain [sic] Club Waltz replacing Sunflower Slow Drag, and Joplin's picture and the copyright removed. It replaced the second edition cover around 1901.
Note: This is the fourth edition cover that has the Augustain [sic] Club Waltz added back in, and a different font for the dedication and footer from around 1902. Subsequent editions removed the dedication.
